Artist's Notes: Lets begin with the fic that inspired this mushy gooey piece. "Five Times Mycroft was Envious" is a really really good read and if you have a messed up sibling relationship like myself (middle child), you can completely relate to both Sherlock and Mycroft. Two people who are destined to always misunderstand each other because both have too much damn pride.

The fic just happened to give me my own head canon about Sherlock and Mycroft's childhood. Sherlock, who at first really looked up to his big brother and Mycroft who in turn would do anything to protect him. Funny how Mycroft takes it too far though. Yeesh.

I can thank my nephew for the bit of inspiration too. He's freaking insane.

Edit: Mycroft may be older in my interpretation.

Edit: I made the background white instead of black. The black was a bit scary. Derp.

I agree, fellow middle-child, having both a younger and older sibling does give one more perspective. You know well both the advantages and disadvantages of each kind of sibling. And it is especially helpful when relating to this sort of thing, indeed. My older sister even reminds me of Mycroft a little . . .
